I am Grace Velarde, a purpose-driven cook from a tiny kitchen in Makati City. I enjoy entertaining and cooking for family and friends at home. I have no formal training at all. Cooking is simply a passion. I am enthusiastic about French cookery and recipes. I am always curious with much fervor about its cooking techniques, preparations, ingredients and almost everything that is associated with French dishes. My tiny kitchen is all I got to pursue my zeal for food and cooking.

French Basket will be about anything and everything that goes on in my tiny kitchen. This will be my corner where all things are delicious, where I can share my passion with you. French Basket will be my virtual podium to express my flavourful ideas, where learning French cuisine will be an adventure worth sharing.

I am committed to my purpose, to fearlessly accept the challenge of learning to cook authentic French recipes and to know all about its cuisine. I will begin French Basket with few familiar dishes that I and my partner both love and perhaps with few requests from friends. Then I will begin to boldly explore the unfamiliar course.

I feel ecstatic already just by thinking how much I could I satisfy my palate but most especially how I could make every dish a thing to look forward to and that every dish I prepare will be a fresh experience.
